36. Kind of weird and kind of fun
I occasionally wait for people who need help loading their cars at Lowe’s or just anywhere. I’m careful when I help a woman. I make sure there is plenty of light and others around. With men, there’s not so much of a concern.
People are purchasing items that are beyond their ability to load in their vehicle. A second sets of hands can surely help. After helping, it is very natural to hand them a tract followed with a comment about how the Gospel works. Sometimes they say, “Thank you” and drive away, but I’ve never seen them throw a tract away…not while I’m watching. I love to see them get in their vehicle and start reading. Sometimes, praise God, they read for quite a long time. The Word of God does not come back void.
Sometimes people try to defy the laws of physics. Whatever they try to put in their vehicle simply isn’t going to fit. I show them how easy it is to rent a truck. If people want me to, I have followed people home—because I knew they would need help to unload at the other end. Men, again, with a woman, you need to be careful. Occasionally, when things don’t fit in their vehicle, they have to return items. I’ve helped people do that as well. God works in mysterious ways.
Matthew 5:16 NIV “16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
