34. The opposite of my dog Milly, the evangelist
I enjoy engaging with another person’s dog. Ask the dog’s owner, “Why do you love your dog so much?” The most common answer is “unconditional love.” Then, ask, “If there is life after death, would you want to take your dog with you?” Most people will say yes if their dog is a well-trained, good dog.
Next, ask them “How should we determine what is “good” in our society?” God loved us while we were sinners—zero conditions.
Now, make it personal and ask, “Have you ever lost a close friend or relative? What do you think about life after death?”
How often, on average, does a person think about death on a daily basis? It can be very personal or just the daily news, but people think about death a lot. During Covid 19, a study in the news showed that when asked about death, one researcher asked Democrats and Republicans “How many people will be hospitalized by Covid 19?” Republicans said less than 1% and Democrats said 50%. Fear of death can drive people.
If you are in Christ there should be no fear of death. I think people fear how they might die. I always listed one disease that I did not what to have as my path to my passing—it will remain unmentioned. I’m not going to make someone live something over again because of me. Then after much prayer, I felt like the Lord was saying, “What if I choose that path for you to bring Glory to My Name and to further build the Kingdom?” Ok, Lord, I will follow regardless of the path. Praise God for the martyrs! The idea of to die once, not twice. That’s why we are evangelists.
Romans 5:8 NJKV “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
