23. You get more than chicken at “Raising Cain’s Chicken.”
Yep, I keep thinking about the name, but the restaurant was named after a beloved dog. I love the chicken, even though the Rock-n-Roll is deafening in that restaurant. I shared a $1,000,000 tract with the manager at the register.
He loved it. So, I asked if he would give one to each employee. He said, “Absolutely!” I said, “I don’t want to put your job in jeopardy.” He said, “Who cares, they don’t have to take one.” Michael was a believer, and a very good manager. I produced a very positive support letter on him on Yelp. I recommend that, because when someone sees what you did, you now have the basis of a great relationship. And that means you will often have more opportunities to share Jesus.
After that encounter, I did not see Michael in the restaurant anymore. I said, “Where is Michael?” The employees said, “He was great, but got a better offer elsewhere.” Amen! Of course, that made total sense to me. Now I talk to the employees about Michael, and they love it. Basically, Jesus runs interference for His children. I’ve had the opportunity to tell others in the store to duplicate Michael’s managerial style and learn more about the Jesus that Michael served.
